BELYI & KIRR CAPTURE SPONTANEOUS MAGIC ON "MR. DEEJAY"

The Russian production duo turn a post-gig melody into a soulful afro house release on AFROKHIN.

Born from pure spontaneity after a late-night set at Shady Pig, the track came together in a single day of inspired studio work.

Kirr woke up the morning after his set with a melody stuck in his head. He went straight to the studio, laid down a demo within hours, and called Belyi to finish what they'd started. Finding vocalist Jeremy, who typically performs at weddings and events, added the soulful vocal element the track needed.

Since focusing on afro house, Belyi & Kirr have developed a sound that sets them apart from other producers in the scene. Their recent experiments with Latin afro house show a willingness to push their style into new territory while keeping the core elements that define their approach.

"Mr. Deejay" combines organic afro-inspired rhythms with melodic synths, capturing that moment when DJ and dance floor connect.

Most of the production was completed that same day of inspiration, with final touches added later to perfect the details. The track feels like a conversation between artist, crowd, and DJ - reflecting the kind of flow that only happens when music moves beyond plans and expectations.

A career highlight came when their release on MoBlack Records spent a month in the top of Beatport's Afro House chart, with label founder Mimmo adding it to the 13th golden compilation on vinyl. They're currently working on a hybrid live show at sunset, keeping details under wraps for now.
