HYDRAH DELIVERS HER CINEMATIC "MY PARADISE" ON ACROPORA
Minnesota-based producer combines classical training with club production on her own imprint.
The electronic music producer, composer, and singer channels her background as a water scientist into a track that reflects on environmental change.
Hydrah brings a unique perspective to electronic music, drawing from both classical training and her work as a water scientist. Her productions layer orchestral-inspired melodies over driving basslines, with her own powerful vocals anchoring each track.
Her approach to production varies from day to day - sometimes starting with a vocal line, other times building from atmospheric pads. The goal is always strong, catchy melodies that can carry both the vocal and synth elements, creating detailed compositions that work on multiple levels.
"My Paradise" marks a departure for Hydrah, featuring more prominent vocals than her usual minimal approach.
The track draws inspiration from both nature and classical composers like Vivaldi and Beethoven, creating what Hydrah describes as "powerful, cinematic and vocal driven" music. She filmed a live performance video on the shores of Lake Superior, performing surrounded by the raw power of one of the world's largest freshwater lakes.
The release supports The Nature Conservancy, an organization Hydrah has volunteered with personally. Her plan is to continue combining her passion for science and music, with more releases planned on Acropora and other melodic house and techno labels.
